The forth post on my lipstick collection series will be a mixture of drugstore brands from UK and Japan. As you may know I have already reviewed few lipsticks before so I will not repeat it again. You can find out  the reviews for Bourjois rouge edition velvet matte lipstick here, L'oreal color riche collection privee here and Lookme the lipstick here. Although you won't see these 3 brands review on here but I've put the swatches in this post.

First of all let's start with Japanese drugstore. I went to Japan earlier this year and also around  October last year. No doubt, Japanese skin care and cosmetic products are some of the best in the world that provide excellent quality and value for money. Rows and rows of make up I was pretty enjoy wandering around drugstore. Most lipsticks have sheen finish (sometime with a high glittery gloss) and they are very moisturising. Apart from great formula, I found the colour ranges can be quite limited. While most of the time I tend to go for bold matte lipstick, most drugstore brands in Japan are filled with pale pinks, nudes, and pale peaches. Well, but this doesn't mean I don't like nude shade. I'm currently own 9 Japanese drugstore lipsticks from 3 different brands. First is Lavshuca, a very popular brand that I heard a lot of people talk about. Their lipsticks are sheer but buildable for full coverage. While PK-3 provide more pigmented, PK-1 and BE-2 are a little bit glossier with micro glitter that you can hardly notice when you apply on the lips.

Canmake on the other hand has creamier finish but still moisturising. I love the plain metal gold packaging that some how make me feel very luxe. Although it is a bit hard wearing 01 melty nude (copper tube) on it own because it's too white but I found that mixing with other bold colour will give a new beautiful milky colour on the lips. 01 creamy touch (Golden tube) is another good nude lipstick colour that I like because it gives a neutral natural look. I talked about Lookme the lipstick few month ago you can read a full review here.
Next, it's time for UK drugstore. We are all know pretty well that they are lots of brands out there that have a good quality make up product that sometimes as good as high-end with a smaller price. I own total 18 lipsticks from UK drugstore. I shall start with Beauty UK, I've never spotted this brand before until I watch one of Lisa Eldridge youtube videos she used this Vampire shade on one of her make up tutorials and I instantly want to try it. Some times cheap packaging can't tell that there is a good quality product inside. I'm pretty surprise how pigmented this lip is. It's really bold true red with a minty flavour and it's only cost £3.49 per lipstick! Such a bargain!

Next, my fave brand Sleek I can say that their lipsticks are as good as MAC. I secretly wish that they will have more colour choice. There are 2 different finishes, sheen and matte. For bright shade with sheen finish I would recommend using lip brush to apply or use lipliner underneath to avoid mess. Overall they are really pigmented, glide on really well and smooth.

Me me me remind me of amplified finish from MAC the finish is exactly the same with a nice fragrance smell and the staying power is great too. I got one in shade "Berry Crush" a beautiful shimmery berry colour with blue undertone. Although I'm not a fan of shimmery lipstick but I like this one

Do you know that Jack Will used to do a small make up line. I got these 3 cute little lipstick from a gift set. To be honest I bought it because I love the packaging and it was on sale after Christmas few years ago. I just realise that I have these lipsticks in my collection when I start this series. The reason I don't really use it because the plastic lid goes a bit wonky and cracked :/ For the formula I would say it's almost matte a bit on the patchy side and can tend to highlight drier areas. Well we don't really expect a brand known for making hoodies to be equally good at make-up right?

Lastly my most least favourite lipstick from Seventeen in shade Saintly I don't like how it looks and feel on my lips and it seems to emphasise dry patch and crease so I only wear it only 3 times after I purchase it :(

You can find a full review for Bourjois rough edition and L'oreal colour riche privee here and here.

Which one is you favourite? Any recommendation which colour I should get?
Stay tuned for my high-end lipstick collection. I'll post it next Sunday

OOTD: Sporty Girl @ Harewood House

Sawasdee ka~

Did you have a good long bank holiday? I did! Last Sunday I went to Harewood house (30 minute away from Leeds if you go by bus). After a poopy weather for whole week I was lucky enough to have a nice sunny day out.

Harewood is a perfect place, whether you want to visit the house and its wonderful collections, relax in the gardens or play on the playground. It normally open during summer time; for this year I believe it will open until 3rd November. You will need to buy ticket to get in though. If you are travelling by bus number 36 from Leeds you also will get a discount. Moreover, if you are a student you will get more discount! Apart from a beautiful house there is bird garden. It's home to rare and exotic species including penguins, snowy owls, flamingos, parrots etc. I also love penguin feeding that will be at 2pm everyday. You can even feed them by yourself but this have to be booked in advance and it costs £10.

Right, move on to my outfit of the day. If you saw my latest haul post you might probably familiar with this mickey dungarees. I just bought it and can't help wearing it before summer say goodbye. So it's kind of sporty girl look. The point of the look apart from dungarees would be shiny LOVE cap that my boyfriend said that it's too shiny and blind him lol. I love it though it complete the look

Love cap : New Look
Bag and "kiss me" ring : Unknown
Wedge-Heeled Sneakers : Adidas (similar)

SWATCHES & REVIEW : My Lipstick Collection [ILLAMASQUA]

Sawasdee ka~
It's time for British make-up brand. I’ve been collecting Illamasqua lipstick for about 3 years now. The first ever lipstick I bought from Illamasqua is Plunge. And since then I keep going back to the shop every now and then. If you can remember, about the beginning of this year I did swatches and review on Illamasqua perfect pout gift set that I received on Christmas. It’s also one the most popular post on my blog. If you’ve missed that post you can find it here.

Illamasqua lipstick is more of a high-end price. Each lipstick cost £18.50 and seems like the price will keep increasing each year :/ In term of packaging, I really like a black shiny square tube that really sleek and easy for storage.

I’m currently own 12 Illamasqua lipsticks half of them are from the gift set I mention above. In this post I also include 3 new Glamour Nude lipsticks range that just release on 10th of July this year. Let’s start with my thought about lipstick. All of core collection lipsticks are matte finish which is really high-pigmented, long lasting. I found that the matte finish is quite drying compare with the other brands and the dryness also vary from colour to colour. Plunge is actually the most drying one and I can hardly wear it without lip liner or lip balm underneath. To mention, before you apply its lipstick make sure that your lips are smooth. Although all lipsticks contain vitamin E but lip balm might be essential for  some of you who have chapped lip. Some time I also apply a lipgloss on top to make my lips look more moisturised and dewy.

The first three lipsticks (Rosepout, Starker and Cherub) are all part of recent Glamour nude collection. All three are incredibly pigmented and vibrant colours with a satin finish that's said to be new to the brand. They glide on so smoothly and still really pigmented on the lips. I'm pretty impress with this collection and thinking about buy more (maybe all 7 shades) lol.

I also want to mention about Magnetism from Generation Q collection which is now part of core collection too. The special thing about this lipstick is the finish isn't matte but it's more of creamsheen finish. A bit more sheen than Glamour collection but still as pigmented. I can say this is my favourite both in colour and finish.
Oh almost forgot "Isis" is limited edition shade that isn't sell separately you can only get it with the perfect pout gift set. And "Perilous" is the colour that you can't get hold of it anymore :(

Which one is you favourite? Any recommendation which colour I should get?

Massive Haul: Topshop, H&M, New Look and Primark

Sawasdee ka~
Say hi to a massive haul once again. My latest cloth haul would be about 3 months ago so this is the perfect time to post about my newbies to my wardrobe again. Shopping is some kind of stress therapy for me as in the past month I was pretty freak out with my never ending lab work so spending some money on something I like actually help me feel a little bit better. I also love sharing with you my latest purchases so here’s my most recent offering from Topshop, Primark, H&M and New Look.

❤︎ H&M
Red lip shoulder bag £14.99 : I have been collection anything in lips shape for a while and when I saw this red lip bag/clutch I just can't resist
Fashion freak earrings £4.99 : If you let me choose to wear only one accessory I would rather prefer earring. And look at the design I just love that hanging text bit.
Short jersey top £6.99 : Croptop is one of my staple items so why not have more? I like fabric material that is not too thin and not too thick and those cutie text screenings.

 ❤︎ Primark
Flower headband £3.99: I'm still not over with the flower headband lol although I'm not sure whether I still have a chance to wear it this year with unpredictable UK weather but I'm sure I still can keep it until next year when summer say hello again
Sport bra £5 : Healthy living is something I'm trying to do now. I've been starting to do work out in the past few months and the most important item for exercising is a proper sport bra. Can't believe how cheap is it compare with the quality I get
Dungarees £10 and £14: dungarees trend always make me think about my childhood. Back in primary school I remember wearing it pretty often and once it hit this year trend I just can't help buy myself few dungarees. I think Primark make a decent one with areasonable price. The minty green one is pretty colour and did you notice that the one on the left has mickey mouse head screen all over. How adorable it is?
❤︎ New Look
Black cap £6 : because I can't decide which cap should I get so I just bought 2 in one go (crazy me) and with more than 50%off (original price£12.99) I think it worth it.

❤︎ Topshop
Dress £20 : I got these 2 dresses during Topshop Sale. They both are cute little bodycon dress that can compliment your figure really well. I like the fabric and cut out detail. If you can remember I wore the blue dress in my OOTD post last week.
Sunglasses £16 : I bought this sunglasses just because I want it to match my blue dress so the sunglasses also feature in the OOTD post last week as well. It's actually not the shape of sunglasses  I normally wear but surprisingly it looks good. Maybe because that candy blue tone that help compliment everything.

Have you picked up anything from the sale recently?

SWATCHES & REVIEW : My Lipstick Collection [M.A.C.]

Sawasdee ka~
You can’t say you are a lipstick lover if you don’t own any lipstick from MAC. I guess all lipstick lovers must own at least one MAC lipstick. So my second post of this series will be swatches from MAC.

I remember bought my first ever MAC lipstick about 4 years ago and since then I keep going back there for lipstick. It’s a shame that MAC keeps increasing their price all the time and sale assistant is one of the problems too I’m pretty sure most people experience lack of attention from sale assistant before so I will not talk in detail about it (feel free to share your experience though).  So most of the time, I will go the counter to get some swatches and order them online.

Right stop complaining for now. I will start with mini review here then. Like I mention before about the price, one lipstick will cost from £15.50 to £20 so they are more of a mid-highend price. There are many choice of finishes and colours. I’m sure you will never get bored of swatching them. I actually quite like the packaging, black study little bullet-like with a flat bottom and rounded head. If you keep lipstick upside down like me you might struggle a little bit but that is not the end of the world.

I’m currently own 14 MAC lipsticks. I got 2 of the same colour so there will be only 13 swatches in this post (I will talk about liquid lipstick and lip liner in a separate post). So let’s talk about each lipstick finishes first. Matte yes it’s matte finish but not too drying or cling on your lips  and it has excellent stay power. Retro Matte is pretty similar to matte but the formula is bit more drying on the lips. Satin is my favourite finish this one also similar to matte but with a bit of sheen added to the formula. Amplified is another version of satin with a bit more sheen in it. Cremesheen just like the name it’s creamy finish, the stay power is not so great it would last about a couple of hours. Frost my least favourite formula it’s very shimmery and it doesn’t go well with my lips. Glaze the sheerest MAC lipstick formula that give natural finish while looking glossy. Sheen Suprememe is kind of lipstick/lipgloss hybrid and very moisturising I found that it’s pretty hard to apply straight to the lips as it’s very creamy so lip brush might be needed. Mineralize rich this formula comprised of many different minerals very rich and creamy I think it’s creamier than cremesheen but not as creamy as sheen supreme.
* Limited Edition
My favourite of all the shades I own would be Viva Glam Nikki I love it that much so I bought 2 when it's still available

Which one is you favourite? Any recommendation which colour I should get?

OOTD: Blue Sky @Leeds Millennium Square

Sawasdee ke~

After a hectic weather week with lots of rain finally it had a bit of sun on Saturday. My boyfriend and I went to Millennium square to join Leeds City beach event. It's a 3-weeks event start from 9th to 31st of August. This urban beach event features a real sand beach with decking, and a wide range of summer activities and themed rides. Since we haven't had a chance to go any real beach (not yet) so we just pretending that we are on the beach, enjoy sunbathing in a sandy ground and staining my own tongue blue with raspberry icy slushy drink.

I actually didn't plan for this outfit it's basically whatever I can reach. I bought this cute blue dress during Topshop sale 2 weeks ago and it still in in a shopping bag next to my work table so I just grab it and mix and match with few accessories and here you go. I'm ready to enjoy the sun.

SWATCHES & REVIEW : My Lipstick Collection [TOPSHOP]

From left to right : Straight Ace, Inhibition, The Damned, Daredevil, Rio Rio, Brighton Rock, Pillow Talk, Legend, Mexican Wave, Charmed
Sawasdee ka~
I wrote on the lipstick tag post that Topshop is one of my favourite place to go for lipstick. For the first post of the series I will definitely start with this brand. Topshop launched their makeup line few years ago and since then I’m always attracted to their lipstick collection. I love to go in the store and look for new shades or collection. Sometimes I’m just happy to walk around with lipstick swatches on my hand.

There may not be a big colour option to choose from, but what I love is an affordable price with an excellent quality. The packaging so cute yet sturdy with flat top and bottom making it easy to store standing upright. Although the coat will worn off with time but that is not a problem for me as long as the quality of lipstick itself still the same. They provide great pigmentation especially for bright bold colour I don’t even worry about re-apply the lipstick. They have great staying power. From the picture below you can see that even after I use a makeup remover wipe the swatches, there are still some light stains on my arm. I also love their formula they are creamy/velvety that are not drying and don’t leave any dry patch on you lips. *THUMP UP*

So the collection I’m showing you today is only the lipstick that in a bullet like( you know what I mean?). I also have liquids lipstick and chubby lipstick from Topshop but I will leave that for now. Don’t worry you definitely will still see them in near future :)
My favourite of all the shades I own would be Daredevil and Rio Rio. They both are red with pink and orange undertone, respectively. Unfortunately, you probably can't get hold of Daredevil now. I guess it has been discontinued. Hopefully one day Topshop will relaunch this colour again.

Which one is you favourite? Any recommendation which colour I should get?
Stay tuned for my MAC lipstick collection. I'll post it next Sunday
