[REVIEW] Lancôme Hypnose Doll Eyes VS Hypnose Volume-à-ponter The mascara that won't smudge

 Sawasdee ka~

Recently I just found a perfect mascara combination for my straight long thin eyelashes. So my problem is that all of non-waterproof mascara I tried made my lashes floppy and uncurl. My secret (well~not really someone might already know this anyway) to keep my eyelashes perfectly curled from  day to night is to use waterproof mascara. I have tried many different brands from drugstore to high-end one from Maybelline to Chanel but none actually made me impress. Although they can keep my lashes fuller and curled but by the end of the day I started to see some smudges around my lower lashes line which doesn't look nice. Hello Panda eyes >__< Until 3 years ago I discovered Lancome Hypnose mascara line and I instantly fell in love. No wonder why Hypnose mascara line always win beauty award! Yes it is a bit pricey but it worth the money (at least in my opinion).

[HOW-TO] MAKEUP INSPIRED BY DJ SODA VERSION TANNED SKIN

Sawasdee ka~

This week I created a look that inspired by current famous DJ from Korea. Her official name is DJ Soda have you ever heard her name? She is really popular in my hometown at the moment. As can be seen in the pictures she got a porcelain skin but I'm pretty tan right now so I will adjust makeup colour to suit my skin tone.

Let's get started!

HAUL : Lipstick & Makeup Organisers

Sawasdee ka~

Sorry guys, I know I haven’t blogged for ages. So first of all I would like to update my current situation for a bit. I’m currently on my final stage of my PhD student life. I’m pretty busy with writing up my thesis. So I might not be able to write blogpost that often now. BUT I still often update my Facebook so this is another alternative way to keep in touch with me.

Okay enough ranting. Let’s get going. My post this time will be a little bit more special. I got YOUTUBE CHANNEL! This will be first time when you actually see me talking (in Thai -__-“ bit I have subtitle in English though so don’t worry).

HOW-TO : [MAKEUP] Flower Power...Spring is coming

Sawasdee ka everyone~
As spring is approaching UK slowly I think it would be a good idea to do a how-to that has inspiration from flower. I'm personally love colourful flower and always find a nice bunch of flowers to fill up my beautiful vase at home.

My inspiration for today how-to is from Chrysanthemum. It symbolise optimism and joy. It also has a wide range of colour from white to purple to red with a yellowish centre. And the colour I picked was purplely-pink Chrysanthemum.

SWATCHES & REVIEW : Makeup Revolution [Part One]

Sawasdee ka~

I have seen posts about Makeup Revolution for awhile but I've never had a chance to have a good look at this brand until recently. The brand is well-known for making a good dupe from a good brand with an affordable price. After I play around with the items I ordered I can confirm that they provide pretty good quality products too
❤︎ Essential Matters 2 Eyeshadow Palette (£4)
Some of you might already know that MakeUp revolution makes a perfect palette dupe for Urban Decay Naked and swatches on the internet sure look convincing. However I already owned Nake 2 and 3 so I prefer something different. I end up order this matte eyeshadow palette which I love...the pigment and colour are amazing! Although I have to say I didn't like the packaging but with this price tag I don't expect much anyway. This palette also comes with a sponge applicator but I never use them as I prefer using my finger or brushes.
Swatches from left to right as you can see them in the palette
The palette has 12 shades with neutral colours that perfect for everyday use. All of them gives a really good colour payoff. You can build up the colours to however heavy or sheer you like.
❤︎ Iconic Pro Blush, Bronze and Brighten-Flush (£4)
Is it look familiar to you? It looks exactly like Sleek Makeup highlight and contour palette. Again it shows a good colour payoff on your skin.

❤︎ I ♡ Makeup Blushing Hearts-Peachy Pink Kisses (£4.99)
Again, this is another dupe for Two Faces Hearts Blusher but I don't own any of them so I can't really compare the quality. The blush inside is gorgeous with 3 different shades but I only do a one swatch for the mix of 3 together. I think most of you will use it that way anyway. It's very shimmery blush which will be noticeable if you look closely.

❤︎ Ultra Aqua Brow Tint in Medium (£3)
Another product that remind me of Make Up For Ever Aqua Brow. It's something I've never tried before so I think I shall start of with Makeup Revolution before try more expensive one from MUFE. I love the product but it would be better if there are more shade available (currently 4 shades). It, somehow, show up a reddish brown on my brow which look quite weird but it can be fix with some dark brown eyeshadow on top. It's very pigmented so you only need small amount.

Overall I'm pretty impressed with my purchase. It's such an affordable makeup brand with great quality product. If you want to get new makeup but don't want to spend too much on it this brand would be great option to start off.

Stay tuned for part two :)

2014 Beauty Favourites

Sawasdee ka~
Happy New Year everyone! I know I know I have been disappearing for errrrr...almost 3 months >__<  I'm really sorry for not keeping you up to date. Well, apart from having little holiday in Thailand (which I will write a post about it some time soon), I actually busy with writing paper publication. If you are new to my page you might not know that I'm currently a final year PhD student so thesis and writing up some scientific journal are my first priorities. But don't worry I won't leave this blog I will still be here to make a regular post :)

In the past year, I have been fortunate enough to have tried a lot of beauty products. Surely, there will be hits and misses. And as the new year start, I think it would be great to write about products I've been loving in 2014 ( I realise that I might be the last person doing this -__-") and I have a pretty strong feeling they’ll be leading the way in my routine in 2015 as well.

❤︎ SKINCARE
Lush Tea Tree Water Toner is an essential step in my skincare routine. I have been using it for 2 years. Although at some point I get bored and want to try something new but I always end up go back to this toner. I have acne prone skin so tea tree is actually natural product that can work really well with my skin type. It's cheap and it works wonders. My crazy acne seems to be reduced, and new acne seems smaller and more manageable

Biotherm Life Plankton Essence Well this product was launched in Thailand some time last year and many Thai bloggers have been raving about it. So when I when back to Thailand I bought myself 2 bottles and end up loving this product! It help healing my problem skin and make my skin looks more radiant and softer. It's expensive (almost £50 for 125 ml) but if you want to invest something on you skin this it worth a try. Unfortunately, this product is unavailable in UK. From what I know it only available in Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore and Canada

Indeed Laboratories Hydraluron Another product that I keep repurchasing it over and over  (especially when it's on offer lol). I used it every morning and evening before moisturised my face. Although I have oily skin but my skin also dehydrate. This thing doesn't clog my pore, not sticky and keep my face hydrate without making my face greasy. Hydraluron is  not an overnight miracle though, it takes time to actually feel the benefit of using it.

Origin Super Spot Remover This tiny blue bottle works really well with spot. You may think this is a measly amount (10 ml), but I have been using this constantly for around 6 month. and it just doesn't seem to disappear that much. Well, I usually only apply the product on the pimple and not the skin around it. Meaning I don't go overboard and put it everywhere. I notice that the spot either calm down or disappears after around few days.

Hiruscar Post Acne The last product I love in skincare category is this magic tube. I have been using many products that claim to reduce acne scar before and by far this is the best. I found that it speeds up the process of lighten the dark post acne mark. The effects were not noticeable by the day but after a period of time the result is pretty obvious.

❤︎MAKEUP
Rimmel Wake Me Up Liquid Foundation Hands down my most favourite and used foundation of the year. I have loads of foundations in my stash from both high street and high end brands but this one is actually the best of them all. I love it so much so easy to find and so affordable. I love how it feel on my skin and how easy it is to blend. It's light and not cakey but it has good coverage

Benefit Porefessional What can I say about this I think most of people know what it does. I usually put it on a specific area on my face where large pore visible not all over my face before apply foundation. It make my makeup goes on smoothly and help reduce the appearance of pore around my T-zone. Believe it or not, this one little tube last me over a year so if you think about it, it's not expensive at all.

Benefit Hoola This product is brilliant for contouring. I like to contour my face to give a bit of dimension to it. It is perfect for using both day and night. I use it basically almost everyday not just for contour my face but as an eyebrow powder as well.

Kiss Eye Brow Pencil If you can remember earlier last year I post a beauty haul from Japan, here. And this is one of the items that I bought with me when I went to Japan. A twist up brow pencil that perfect for lazy girl like me. No more sharpener. I would say it's pretty expensive if you buy from the link I gave you but it actually considers really cheap if you go to drugstore in Japan. What I love about this product is its consistency and the lasting power.

Sleek MakeUp Eye&Cheek Dancing till Dusk 27 Another great value palette that I always reach for especially when I travel. Last year was the year of travel I have been to many places and packing my make up is actually one of my problems. This palette actually saves me a lot of space. It's a great basic colours range that will suitable for both casual and glam effect.

Burberry Lip Cover Devon Sunset 2 As much as I love bold lipstick I also into nudey lipstick last year. And the lipstick that I always reach for when I want some corally nude is this Burberry lip cover. It applies really nicely, light-weight and very opaquely which no patchiness feeling

MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in Reckless I have been loving ever since I can get my hand on it. It's really pretty red colour. Easy to apply, very long wearing and it's only £3. What else could I ask for. I will upload more review about it on my next week post :)

❤︎EXTRA
Herbal Essences Clearly Naked Dry Shampoo Talking about dry shampoo I'm a bit sceptical about it. In my head I only think about powdery dry white head that make me feel itchy so I didn't expect much when I bought this dry shampoo. Turn out I love it so much after the first time I have used it. I was left with hair that looked nice and non-greasy and to my surprise this is the first dry shampoo I have used which doesn't leave a white power residue or make me feel itchy. And it smell AMAZING!

Have you ever tried any of these products?

SWATCHES&REVIEW : ZOEVA The Power Palette

Sawasdee ka~

Sorry guys for disappearing from the blogsphere for awhile. I was working hard in the laboratory so I didn't really have time to write a post. Also, I'm currently on my holiday in Thailand so I might not write a post that often during I'm here but I promise I will get back on track when I get back to UK.

On my Zoeva rose gold brush set post I said I will do swatches and review on blush palette that I bought the same time as the brush set. This palette is called The Power Palette. One whole palette with 10 blushes only costs around £15!

Lets start off with my thought on packaging. The packaging is simple yet sleek.  It is made from rather light feeling black thin plastic. The only suggestion from me to make this palette look better is a mirror inside the lid. There is a waste of space around the lid that I think would fit mirror really well.

The blush itself provides good enough pigment and they are easy to blend and build up. Sadly Zoeva didn't give these blushers individual names. For me, I like everything to be named because it feels more luxe. However, I will just number them from left to right as seen in the palette. Inside the palette there are 10 powder blushers. This palette is an ideal for those of you who want to brighten up your face in this grumpy-rainy weather with the summery blushers and bronzers. The colours are ranging from pinks to peaches to browns. There is only one true matte (no.3). Most of the blushers contains shimmer but not too glittery that will look really pretty on your face.

Overall, I think this palette is pretty much hit and miss. For me some shades look horrible on my face  but some were pretty good. I normally use no.1 for highlighter and no.3 for contour. The pigment is actually vary from colour to colour. No.5 has the weakest shade as you can see on my arm I had to really swatch it a few times to get a good colour payoff.

Here is the list of each shade on the palette:

No 1.   neutral/light brown shimmer
No 2.   bronze shimmer
No 3.   neutral medium brown matte
No 4.   warm brown
No 5.   peach / orange (bit like NARS Orgasm)
No 6.   warm coral red
No 7.   salmon orange
No 8.   golden champaign
No 9.   warm orang
No 10. deep red

No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
No. 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
Have you ever heard about Zoeva?

HOW TO : [MAKE UP] Soft like Cotton & Sweet like Candy

Sawasdee ka~
Today I come with my first ever how to make up tutorial. If there is any mistake please forgive me. It's also my first time to show my proper naked face in public (please don't be scared). I did this make up for my friend hen night white party. Basically everyone wore white so I chose to go for a sweet look with all over pink on my face.

Face:
1. Clean your face and apply your normal moisturiser all over your face
2. Apply foundation and conceal where needed. To make color melt into your skin, dab it on with a dampened synthetic makeup sponge. Wet the sponge, then squeeze until it’s almost dry. Next, dispense foundation onto the back of your hand, warm the foundation with your finger, press the sponge into it, and apply all over your face  and neck for nicely coverage. Next press in translucent powder to set your base
3. Highlight, contour and flush you cheek with pink blush on and apply baby pink lipstick

Eyes:
1. Start enhancing your brows by mapping out a strong eyebrow shape on your face using an eyebrow pencil. Then powder with Nooner eyeshadows and use brow mascara to make your brows look fuller
2. For long lasting eyeshadow I use cream gel shadow all over upper eyelids
3. Apply Buzz from Naked 3 palette on top of cream gel shadow
4. Apply eyeshadow following the white dot line with Dust and black dot line with Blackheart
5. Create the outline of eyeliner
6. Draw an eyeliner across your upper lids
7. Apply black pencil liner to you lower water line and start lining gold pencil slightly below black liner
8. Apply silver liquid eyeliner around inner corner eye and lower lash line follow white dot line. Then curl your lashes and apply mascara
9.  Apply upper false lashes and blend your natural lashes and false lashes with mascara
10. Stick plastic heart studs using eyelashes glue along lower lashline and liner wing

SWATCHES & REVIEW : L'oreal Color Riche Collection Privee Lipsticks

From left: Doutzen, Julianne, Eva and Freida
Sawasdee ka~
Are you sick of my lipstick post yet? Hope not because I still enjoy reviewing and swatching it ^___^. It's time for some nude lipsticks review and swatches. Nudey shades are perfect to wear just about anytime of the year no matter how cold or how hot.

L'oreal has launched this Privee collection some time last winter. I remember getting them around the beginning of the year (with 3 for 2 deal in Boots of course). This collection is a limited edition, I'm not sure how long will they be on shelf until so if you are kind of lipstick nudey person don't forget to check them out.

L'oreal collaborate this collection with their 6 iconic L'Oréal Paris spokespersons; Cheryl Cole, Doutzen Kroes, Freida Pinto, Julianne Moore, Eva Longoria and Liya Kebede. I bought myself 4 out of 6 shades Doutzen's nude light baby pink nude which is the lightest shade in the collection. It's obviously too light for me but would look great on paler skin tone, Julianne's nude  a peachy pink tone, Eva's nude light warm caramel nude with a hint of gold, Freida's nude light brown nude with a hint of violet. This is a cool toned nude that would looks amazing on darker skin tone. And my favourite one would be Julianne and Eva :). he special things about them is that all nude shades are based on the celebrity skin tones so there must have shades in the collection that are suited for your skin. The spokemodels chose there own ideal hues with the help of colour designer, Orrea Light, to develop the lipstick shade that is complemented their own skin tones.

Let's start with packaging idea, it looks really luxury for a drugstore brand. These special edition lipsticks are encased in rubberused matte tube which reminds me of Nars engraved in the gold detailing alongside celebrity's signature. In term of quality and texture, it's very smooth, creamy, moisturised and quite sheer. In my opinion the texture is similar to glaze formulation from MAC. It also has a slightly odd lipsticky scent and flavor which I don't really mind as long as it looks beautiful on my lips, but generally the scent fades within the first 20 minutes. As it's nude shade and pretty sheer I don't really expect it to last long. It will stay on your lips in about good few hours. Also, if there are any dry patches to your lips, it will cling onto it.  So make sure you  prep your lips properly.

What's on my face #2 Feel young again

Sawasdee ka~
Continuing from my last OOTD post, I would like to share my make up on the day with you guys. That day I have a childish happy girl theme for a photoshoot so my make up is on a bright pink side. And as the name of this post is "feel young again", I was also thinking about glow radiant skin like young girl skin. I know many people swear by Nars sheer glow foundation for a glow dewy radiant look, I do love it too. However over the last year I found out that pair this foundation with Rimmel wake me up foundation is work even better! Touch up with loose powder then add a bit of contour&highlight to make this look more defined.

For eye-makeup I picked matte pale pink colour and swept it all over the lid and crease added a bit of pearl pink on the middle of the lid and the use felt tip eyeliner to draw a thin line on upper lashline. On the bottom lashline I used a light touch of black pencil liner and blended it with gold chubby liner from Topshop. This gold liner and bright pink lipgloss are keys, they add a little bit of fun/happy feeling to this look.

To mention one thing that you guys might notice, I wear contact lenses :) I have a short eyesight and hate wearing glasses because it leave marks and hurt my nose so I have a good excuse to wear circles lens. This is why my black eyes seem to be bigger that normal. *_*
Base&Face:
Nars bronzing powder "Laugna" // Illamasqua blush "Naked Rose" // Topshop highlighter "Crescent Moon" // Chanel poudre universelle libre loose powder "30 Natural" //  Nars sheer glow foundation in "Fiji" // Rimmel wake me up foundation in "100Ivory" // Cover FX concealer "E40" also used it for under eyes concealer
Lips:
M.A.C. pro longwear lipglass "Full speed ahead"
Eyes&Eyebrows:
Chanel inimitable mascara waterproof in black (not in the photo) // Collection extreme 24 hour felt tip liner "black"// M.A.C. technakohl liner eye-liner kajal "Graphblack" // M.A.C, eyeshadows "Malt", "Sable" and "Mystery" for brows// Kiss natural eyebrown pencil (from Japan) "03" // Topshop crayon "Sun Shower"

P.S. Don't don't forget to enter my lipstick giveaway- ends on 19th April! Just few days left!
