HOW TO : [MAKE UP] Soft like Cotton & Sweet like Candy

Sawasdee ka~
Today I come with my first ever how to make up tutorial. If there is any mistake please forgive me. It's also my first time to show my proper naked face in public (please don't be scared). I did this make up for my friend hen night white party. Basically everyone wore white so I chose to go for a sweet look with all over pink on my face.

Face:
1. Clean your face and apply your normal moisturiser all over your face
2. Apply foundation and conceal where needed. To make color melt into your skin, dab it on with a dampened synthetic makeup sponge. Wet the sponge, then squeeze until it’s almost dry. Next, dispense foundation onto the back of your hand, warm the foundation with your finger, press the sponge into it, and apply all over your face  and neck for nicely coverage. Next press in translucent powder to set your base
3. Highlight, contour and flush you cheek with pink blush on and apply baby pink lipstick

Eyes:
1. Start enhancing your brows by mapping out a strong eyebrow shape on your face using an eyebrow pencil. Then powder with Nooner eyeshadows and use brow mascara to make your brows look fuller
2. For long lasting eyeshadow I use cream gel shadow all over upper eyelids
3. Apply Buzz from Naked 3 palette on top of cream gel shadow
4. Apply eyeshadow following the white dot line with Dust and black dot line with Blackheart
5. Create the outline of eyeliner
6. Draw an eyeliner across your upper lids
7. Apply black pencil liner to you lower water line and start lining gold pencil slightly below black liner
8. Apply silver liquid eyeliner around inner corner eye and lower lash line follow white dot line. Then curl your lashes and apply mascara
9.  Apply upper false lashes and blend your natural lashes and false lashes with mascara
10. Stick plastic heart studs using eyelashes glue along lower lashline and liner wing

OOTD : Military in town

Sawasdee ka,

There was a food festival in Leeds about 2 weeks ago and that time it was lovely hot and sunny day. I decided to do a minimal makeup with statement bright orange lipstick. I was gifted this lovely lipstick from one one my best friends awhile ago and that was my first time I used this lipstick. Can't believe I have never used it before. This lipstick is part of Louise Gray collection. Which I don't think you can get hold of it anymore? For my hair, because it was a hot day I decided to tied my hair up and made a bun. Do you feel weird seeing my full forehead?

Today I come with a feminine military look. If floral dress, maxi skirt or that kind of girly look are not something for you this summer maybe you will like this look. To be honest this kind of look is something I'm not normally wear, but surprisingly I like it.

SWATCHES & REVIEW : L'oreal Color Riche Collection Privee Lipsticks

From left: Doutzen, Julianne, Eva and Freida
Sawasdee ka~
Are you sick of my lipstick post yet? Hope not because I still enjoy reviewing and swatching it ^___^. It's time for some nude lipsticks review and swatches. Nudey shades are perfect to wear just about anytime of the year no matter how cold or how hot.

L'oreal has launched this Privee collection some time last winter. I remember getting them around the beginning of the year (with 3 for 2 deal in Boots of course). This collection is a limited edition, I'm not sure how long will they be on shelf until so if you are kind of lipstick nudey person don't forget to check them out.

L'oreal collaborate this collection with their 6 iconic L'Oréal Paris spokespersons; Cheryl Cole, Doutzen Kroes, Freida Pinto, Julianne Moore, Eva Longoria and Liya Kebede. I bought myself 4 out of 6 shades Doutzen's nude light baby pink nude which is the lightest shade in the collection. It's obviously too light for me but would look great on paler skin tone, Julianne's nude  a peachy pink tone, Eva's nude light warm caramel nude with a hint of gold, Freida's nude light brown nude with a hint of violet. This is a cool toned nude that would looks amazing on darker skin tone. And my favourite one would be Julianne and Eva :). he special things about them is that all nude shades are based on the celebrity skin tones so there must have shades in the collection that are suited for your skin. The spokemodels chose there own ideal hues with the help of colour designer, Orrea Light, to develop the lipstick shade that is complemented their own skin tones.

Let's start with packaging idea, it looks really luxury for a drugstore brand. These special edition lipsticks are encased in rubberused matte tube which reminds me of Nars engraved in the gold detailing alongside celebrity's signature. In term of quality and texture, it's very smooth, creamy, moisturised and quite sheer. In my opinion the texture is similar to glaze formulation from MAC. It also has a slightly odd lipsticky scent and flavor which I don't really mind as long as it looks beautiful on my lips, but generally the scent fades within the first 20 minutes. As it's nude shade and pretty sheer I don't really expect it to last long. It will stay on your lips in about good few hours. Also, if there are any dry patches to your lips, it will cling onto it.  So make sure you  prep your lips properly.

OOTD : Kiss Kiss Kiss @ Leeds Riverside

Sawasdee ka~
I mention before in my very first post that I'm pretty obsessed with lipstick and anything that come in lips shape. So here come the idea for this outfit.

About 2 week ago, my boyfriend and I went for a walk around riverside area in Leeds. It was a lovely Sunday. I decided to go for a casual and simple look. The outfit is actually a plain mix&match with tank top and shorts but I always like to create a gimmick to my outfit. It's time to show off my new top that I just ordered from Ebay and combined it with the black sport bra and shorts. To make the look complete the flower headband and lips clutch/bag are the stars. Pink tone from my sunglasses, lipstick colour, headband and sandals can actually soften the whole black and white thingy and make the look sweeter.

Oh and one more things I want to talk about is my new Primark Sandals that cost only £10 but it's surprisingly comfy and easy to walk with I even manage to buy 2 of the same style but in different colour (shhhhhh don't tell my boyfriend he said if I buy new shoes he going to bin my other old pairs). There is nothing better than having a good comfy shoes, right?

Tank top : Ebay
Shorts : Zara
Flower headband : Primark
Lips clutch/bag : Aldo
Sandals : Primark
Sunglasses : Topshop
Lipstick : MAC Snob
Cupcake: Johnnie Cupcake

I end this post with my greedy funny face when I see all the yummy cupcakes

REVIEW : Love of Dots

Sawasdee ka lovelies~

Today I come with part of my lovely perfume collections "Marc Jacobs Dot". I adore Marc Jacob perfume line, not just only the scents that I love but also a bottle design. The design is actually what I get attracted to before I even tried the perfume on! I'm sure most of you have heard about it before. First Dot was released in 2012 then Honey in 2013 and this year Limited edition Pink Honey which will be available for the 2014 summer season. Well before I tell you my thought about them I want to say that everyone have different preference so not everyone will love them like I do.

Marc Jacobs Dot (Eau de Parfum)
I think I don't have to tell you how much I love this perfume if I tell you this is my 2nd bottle! When I first knew about the release I was sooo excited with the packaging and I doubled the point when I tried it on. Although many people might say there is nothing special about this perfume but for me I think Marc Jacobs try to make it cheerful and easy to wear. And it smells great on me! It is marked as a fruity with a hint of warmth. I was very much in love with it, which was why I was delighted when my boyfriend gave it to me 2 years ago. A little bit down points are the petal lid that takes too much space on my perfume shelf and the scent that seems to disappear after few hours.

Top Notes: Honeysuckle, Red Berries, Pitahaya (dragon fruit)
Mid Notes: Jasmine, Orange Blossom, Coconut
Base Notes: Driftwood, Vanilla, Musk

Marc Jacobs Honey (Eau de Parfum)
So in 2013 Marc Jacobs released a better version of Dot. Better in both packaging design (the lid is smaller yet still cute!) and the longer lasting scent. Honey is actually my current favourite perfume. First reason is because this perfume scent is perfect for summer that coming up and another reason is the scent. The scent is still in sweet florally theme (I think it's sweeter than Dot) with a hint of brightness, freshness and warmth. Once my best friend even asked me which perfume did I use, she said it smells amazing. One thing to mention, the scent is sweet like honey but I can't really smell honey in it (Am I confuse everyone here?!). I kinda smell peach more than any other notes

Top Notes: Pear, Fruity punch and Juicy mandarin.
Mid notes: Orange blossom, Peach and Honeysuckle.
Base notes: Honey, Golden vanilla and Smooth woods.

Marc Jacobs Pink Honey (Eau de Parfum)
Pink honey is the newest release from Marc Jacobs. It's a shame that both of the bottle design and scent are exactly the same as Honey. Instead of yellow, the bottle is splashed in sweetest pink shade. I'm actually not quite understand why Marc Jacobs decide to do a limited edition of Pink honey when there is nothing different from Honey (apart from bottle colour). At first when I know that it's a limited edition I hope to see something more special. Need to say I'm a little bit disappointed but oh well at least the pink bottle is not that bad. If you like pink more than yellow bottle, Pink honey will be release on 26th this month in 50ml Eau de Parfum formulation only.

rrp (50ml) : £49.50
Overall, if you like girly, happy, playful & young perfume you should definitely try these out

OOTD : Hey buttercup @ Boathouse Restaurant

Sawasdee ka~
I just realise that I haven't post this outfit yet. I actually took these photos since Easter. My boyfriend was desperately want to row a boat so he took me to Boathouse restaurant in Colchester, Essex. It's located next to the river Stour and you can also hire a rowing boat there. You can hire from 30 minutes (£7) to an hour (£14) or more if your like. We actually intended to have lunch there as well, but the time when we arrived the restaurant was full, the waiter said the waiting time is about half an hour. So during wait we decided to hire a rowing boat first. Luckily my boyfriend row a boat before so I didn't have to do anything just sitting like a princess and chillax lol. If you are interested make sure you check the website and open time to avoid disappointment. I will give the link at the end of this post

After 3 courses meal I was in a total food coma...hmmm yummy yummy in my tummy. My boyfriend and I also went for a walk around there afterward and took few snapshots for OOTD in this post. Hope you like it :)

SWATCHES & REVIEW : Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Matte Finish

Sawasdee ka all lipstick loooovvveeerrrsss~
It seems like it has been so long since my last lipstick post, and today I would like to give you an update on my newbie lipsticks. If you just come across my blog you might not know that I'm a lipstick lover and my collection is growing bigger all the time. I might have a post about all my lipstick collection anytime soon if you are interested? Anyway, I'm so excited to show you my latest purchase. They are Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Matte Finish. Alhough I'm currently banning myself from buying more makeup especially lipstick but I just can't resist on these new launch. I actually made an excuse to myself that my lovely reader would love to see it lol and also they were on 3 for 2 in Superdrung, so why not?!

If you haven't heard of the new range, they're basically liquid lipsticks/lip stain. In the past year these liquid lipstick things are flying around make up world and almost every brand both high end and high street store launch their own liquid lipstick formulas. Obviously there must be hit and miss but I can say that these Bourjois is a hit for me. These lipsticks come in 8 stunning shades. Unfortunately only 6 shades are available in UK store: 2 reds, 2 oranges and 2 pinks, all of them are so pretty that why I bought 5 of them in one go (crazy I know).

The shade that I went for were 02 Frambourjoise red berry with pink under tone perfect for those who want to try red but don't want to give up pink 03 Hot pepper orangey-red 04 Peach club pale almost nude orange 05 Ole Flamingo deep pink and 06 Pink pong edgy fuchsia pink.

Anyway, from my experience, the texture is very creamy, light and smooth. It doesn't look drying and not patchy at all but I experience drying feeling on my lips (is that make any sense?).The finish is very velvety and quite matte.  They do last for hours even after you eat (the colour may fade a little bit depend on how much you eat). After I wore it for about 12 hours, it still leaves a light stain on the lips which only comes off with makeup remover wipes. It's easily buildable as the first application gives a slight wash of colour. I do recommend to do double coat for more vibrant colour and longer lasting. As the formula is slightly wetter, it does not dry straight away which means you have enough time to perfect the amount of colour you want. I also found that the amount of pigmentation varies from colour to colour. My favourite one would be Hot Pepper and Pink pong :)
All swatches are single application but you can build up the coverage for intense statement lips colour!
Left : 06 Pink pong double coat; Right : After 12 hours

OOTD : Trip to Heraklion

Yassou lovely readers,
If you follow my blog for awhile you might feel a little bit weird with my greeting today. Yassou is actually Greek word for "hello". The reason why I use this word instead of my normal "sawasdee ka" in this post is because I just went to Greece for almost a week and just came back on last Friday. So today post will be about what did I do there and a little bit of OOTDs.

You might be surprise if I tell you the reason that I go to Heraklion (Greece) this time is not for holiday, but I actually go for some scientific conference. And I'm lucky enough to go there without paying anything. The budget from the conference committee is cover the full meeting costs, accommodation and the travel costs!! It's a really great time to get away from rain in UK and say hello to sunshine and tan line (I manage to get 2 shades darker skin after sun bathing yayyyyy). I went there for 5 days and 4 nights and need to say thank you my supervisor to give me a chance to attend this conference. Although I have to go there by myself but at the end I met lots of great people.

Right that's enough blabbing from me and let's move on to my choice of clothes. Because I know that it's hot there and I need to wear something that appropriate enough to attend the conference so most of the clothes that I pack in my suitcase are dresses.

Day one: it was a free day and I chose to wear something comfy. I was wearing an airtex "chase the boys heart" vest - Primark.
Day two: my oral presentation day. I picked the pink dress from Topshop. This dress actually caught lots of attention during my talk.
Day three: a floral maxi dress (bought this dress a year ago so the link shows a similar dress) - New look
Day four: I didn't have a chance to take a photo of my clothes but I was wearing a strapless bodycon dress from Topshop.
Last day: it was another free day before I went back to UK later that afternoon. I wore a mint ribbed cropped vest from Topshop and white hot pants from Primark.
For more info about hotel. In case someone is interested. The location of the conference is held in Knossos beach hotel (last picture) but due to the limited number of rooms available I'd been accommodated to the nearest one which is about 3 minutes walk from Knossos beach hotel. It takes about 10 minute drive from airport or about 20 minutes by bus. Name of the hotel that I stayed is "Aquis Arina Sand". My room has a big balcony which has a beautiful view, twin beds, bath and big wardrobe. All meals are inclusive from 7 am till 11pm so basically you can eat and drink all day without paying anything. Impressive!!

Do you have any plan for this summer holiday?
