SWATCHES & REVIEW : Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Matte Finish

Sawasdee ka all lipstick loooovvveeerrrsss~
It seems like it has been so long since my last lipstick post, and today I would like to give you an update on my newbie lipsticks. If you just come across my blog you might not know that I'm a lipstick lover and my collection is growing bigger all the time. I might have a post about all my lipstick collection anytime soon if you are interested? Anyway, I'm so excited to show you my latest purchase. They are Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Matte Finish. Alhough I'm currently banning myself from buying more makeup especially lipstick but I just can't resist on these new launch. I actually made an excuse to myself that my lovely reader would love to see it lol and also they were on 3 for 2 in Superdrung, so why not?!

If you haven't heard of the new range, they're basically liquid lipsticks/lip stain. In the past year these liquid lipstick things are flying around make up world and almost every brand both high end and high street store launch their own liquid lipstick formulas. Obviously there must be hit and miss but I can say that these Bourjois is a hit for me. These lipsticks come in 8 stunning shades. Unfortunately only 6 shades are available in UK store: 2 reds, 2 oranges and 2 pinks, all of them are so pretty that why I bought 5 of them in one go (crazy I know).

The shade that I went for were 02 Frambourjoise red berry with pink under tone perfect for those who want to try red but don't want to give up pink 03 Hot pepper orangey-red 04 Peach club pale almost nude orange 05 Ole Flamingo deep pink and 06 Pink pong edgy fuchsia pink.

Anyway, from my experience, the texture is very creamy, light and smooth. It doesn't look drying and not patchy at all but I experience drying feeling on my lips (is that make any sense?).The finish is very velvety and quite matte.  They do last for hours even after you eat (the colour may fade a little bit depend on how much you eat). After I wore it for about 12 hours, it still leaves a light stain on the lips which only comes off with makeup remover wipes. It's easily buildable as the first application gives a slight wash of colour. I do recommend to do double coat for more vibrant colour and longer lasting. As the formula is slightly wetter, it does not dry straight away which means you have enough time to perfect the amount of colour you want. I also found that the amount of pigmentation varies from colour to colour. My favourite one would be Hot Pepper and Pink pong :)
All swatches are single application but you can build up the coverage for intense statement lips colour!
